Hi! all,

my strategic is through all to the pull first, after market stabilize at low then buy back your favarote counter. No matter how strong fundamental when market correction must have certain price adjustment one. Why waste the money if confirm market down? my zero cent post.

Ya, UT need to be very long term, and dun enter to UT when the bull is running. Equity funds are very very high risk actually, even u r using DCA(Dollar Cost Averaging), but is not easy to break the even point if u entered at too high price... just can get the little dividend to comfort ur hurty heart loh grin

rayns,
It depends of what type of companies the fund is going to invest. If there are high potential growing companies, we can make a try. Anyway, in such a bull market, i don't recommend to enter any equity funds.

cheesy agreed with u Smallcap, the Hero Member said must have 'certain weight' but if u know how to switch & lock ur UT when market down. U can allocate some of ur investment portfolio for UT, as long as it safety than direct involve in equity market. Althought i personally not buy UT. There is my zero cent comments...  tongue

One question. In case the price dropping, (UT Price), is my money gone.?... let say i buy 1000 units for rm1/unit. if suddenly price drop to rm0.8/unit, thats mean my money become rm800 and i lose 200?? or only the total return reduce?

Rayns, pls read the reply frm our Hero Member Smallcap again, u will find the answer...let answer ur imagine scenario, if this happen, ut drop frm 1.00 to 0.80 it mean that drop 20%, mkt already had a big correction, more than recently mkt drops already(from1216 droped to 1090 =10%) than switch to bonds fund strategic apply.... my zero cent post....

rayns, b4 u buy UT, u must ask urself whether there is ur shorterm, midterm or longterm investment.
In ur case, if fund price drop from rm1.00 til rm0.80/unit, yup, u r temporary lossing rm200(if u invested rm1000 for the initial). But try to think the other way around, if let say u top up again in the same fund, u will get to buy more units by paying the same amount, for example if u top up RM1000 @ 0.8/unit, now u can get 1250 units compare with the initial RM1k/1000 units. By using the method of Dollar Cost Averaging, now ur cost/unit is 0.888. So, if the fund price back to RM1.00, u will definitely earning money by that time. But pls take note that the commission of UT used to be very high, my above comment is only an example, pls refer to newspaper or related websites to check the price.
