dear all,
any comment on trading for living? i'm not really have the drive in current job. much much enjoy doing analysis and learning in such field. thinking of quit and start full time trading  afro

Same here, i hate full-time jobs. They take up too much of my time. Also interested in analyzing and trading. I think one way of making time to trade is by trading the FOREX, as u can day-trade at night. Many internet sites are allowing a minimum deposit of USD200-USD300. Best would be the ones which allow u to trade in flexible amounts. Can also trade US stocks/futures but i think the minimum deposit is very high (at least for me) at around USD2600++. Otherwise, can try to design your trading system for longer holding periods (daily/weekly charts).

There is minimum for USD5,000 with good service and cheap commission. This minimum is to open account
Then maintenance margin is USD2,000
One tick can make money liaw.

The ones who offer forex at USD200-300, I surveyed a few before.
Most promise no commission but the buy/sell spread is abt 4-5 pips.
Make scalping very difficult.

Actually, u can try oanda.com if u wanna trade forex. They have the lowest pip spreads around (1.2 pips for EUR/USD!). However, they widen the spreads just before during news announcements, making it very difficult to trade the news breakouts. Also, i'm not sure if having wider pip spreads will affect scalping (i hardly scalp btw) because every trader using that same wide spread-forex broker will be subjected to the same spreads, right? Still, i did noticed a few times that they're some traders being allowed to trade in between the oanda spreads. Seems like some favouratism is going on. Anyway, it doesn't happen frequently.

The market doesn't sleep. If we hold position, who knows what will the outcome be the next day?  knuppel2 knuppel2 knuppel2

Have come across marketiva before, but since i've already opened account with oanda and am used to their charts, might as well continue trading with oanda. Might try marketiva if i lose everything in my oanda account... sad
