New info for me. Since ver 8 is working fine with charting on Vista, I never test the help file. Help files is usually a standalone application which attached to the main program and it may be written in a different programming code or older version.

There is always reason to believe any underlying incompatibility issues after operating system upgrading, unless you are sure to have all running programs upgrade to most recent versions.

So, consider carefully before upgrading your OS. Which major programs that you want to use in your daily computing activities? Look at your program system requirements, define which OS you need in order to run the program.

Don’t upgrade OS if you are not sure!

BizFun data is just raw data in MetaStock format. All versions of MetaStock is able to read it. You have to make sure:-

1) Your MetaStock is compatible with your OS system, check the system requirement.
2) Make sure your program is not expired after installation.

I had earlier tested on one user Vista with MetaStock 8 and my update_all.exe is running perfectly. My update_all.exe program is just a driver to automate your manual process, so there is no compatible issue because it is not a program. Just make sure you do not have automatic popup or any security message popup due to Vista, my program will capture active screen.

Today, received a highlight from friend who run MetaStock 8 on Vista SP1. The problem is database being locked as "read only" files and it cause daily update not stable. Some data is updated and some not. As information from equis website, only MetaStock version 10.1 is fully compatible with Vista. His advise is don't use Vista because you may have a lot of favorites programm that not able to run.

Anybody run Vista with MetaStock now? Tell us your experiences please!

metastock 8 can run in vista, one of my friends using vista with metastock 8.
there some thing u need to adjust in metastock 8,
right click the meta 8 icon > properties > compatibility tab
then check "run this program in compatibity mode for - windows xp (SP2)"
and also check
run this program as administrator
then apply and OK.
not sure it work or not, this is what he told me.
good luck
